Guernica was a little town in Spain that was bombed by the Nazis during World War II. The destruction was so massive that Picasso tried to express it in this manner.
Similarly what is happening in our barrios due to gang violence is so horrifying that I was inspired to use one of the greatest Hispanic contemporary painter and painting to similarly show what was happening in our barrios.
One person commenting on my cover said, "I don't like the colors and the pictures. It is so awful." I responded, "I am talking about gang violence and murder something not so pretty and not about Disneyland."
